CRICKET – ENGLAND v INDIA

The third Test between England and India was one for the ages and after a fractious few days at Lord’s, the hope is that this week’s Test at Old Trafford will be a fiery affair.

With India in need of a win to keep their series hopes alive, it is no surprise to see Jasprit Bumrah making his third appearance of the English summer. With Luke Humphries falling at the first hurdle in defence of his World Matchplay title, the stage is set for Luke Littler to claim his maiden crown at the Winter Gardens.

A routine first round win over Ryan Searle has seen the Nuke clipped into 11/10 favouritism with Gerywn Price at 6/1 and Josh Rock – himself an impressive winner over Ross Smith on Monday evening – available to back at 9/1.

The action continues apace at Blackpool this week, building to a final crescendo on Sunday where the Phil Taylor Trophy will be handed out. Amongst the more intriguing second round ties are Stephen Bunting’s clash with Gary Andersson where we bet 9/10 either side and Rock’s match with Michael Van Gerwen, where the Green Machine is 6/4 to advance to the last eight.

RUGBY UNION – BRITISH AND IRISH LIONS v MELBOURNE

The Lions sideshow rolls into Melbourne this week and despite a largely apathetic local following, Australia will be hoping to put in a better shift than they managed in Brisbane.

Outclassed for large portions of the game last week, it is little surprise to see that Australia are 10/3 underdogs to force a decider. The Lions are 2/9 to back on our fixed odds coupon, but with those odds being prohibitively short for most, the Supremacy spread betting market can be traded at 10-13 with the Lions as favourites.
