WATCH: KAIZER CHIEFS TRANSFERS 2019/2020

Kaizer Chiefs have been trophyless for a few years now. Last season just compounded the fans misery as they finished ninth in Absa Premiership while they also lost against TS Galaxy in the Nedbank Cup final.

It seems head coach Ernst Middendorp will remain in charge of the Amakhosi despite underwhelming results when he took over mid-season. Although you never really know with Bobby and Chiefs.

The Glamour Boys have right made some moves this transfer window in the hope of redressing their lack of silverware. Have a glimpse at some of their Chiefs’ new signings.

Probably the most high profile signing of the quartet. The 25-year-old once scored the fastest ever hat-trick in the CAF Champions League for Zesco.

The Zambian is lightning fast and can play centrally or out wide. After joining Kaizer Chiefs he said:

“It is a big club and full of ambitions. They are not mere participants, they play to win nothing less than trophies. Chiefs are expected to win titles. My ambitions match theirs.”

The Ghanaian defensive midfielder signed a three-year deal with the Amakhosi after becoming a free agent from Simba Sport Club in the Tanzanian Premier League.

The 25-year-old described the type of player he is:

“I then joined Liberty Professionals in Dansoman, where they used to call me Lampard, taken from the legendary English footballer Frank Lampard… The supporters gave me the nickname because I was tough and brilliant when it came to shooting from a distance.”

“Back home people wished me luck. This is a big break for me, and people back home asked me to make them proud. I wish to ask Amakhosi supporters to pray for me to do well. It is not about me, we are a family, but one thing for sure I am here to fight for Chiefs.”

Luka Kovic is not the only prolific Serbian striker on the move, Nurkovic signed a three-year contract with Chiefs after playing for KFC Komarno in Slovakia.

Wherever Nurkovic has been goals has soon followed and he will duly be wearing the number 9. The 27-years-old scored 23 goals in 28 games last season and since 2011 has 62 goals in 101 starts.

It’s a homecoming for Kearyn Baccus, he was born in Durban and has been overseas since moving there as a kid with his family.

The midfielder signed from Melbourne City FC in the A-League penned a three year deal with Chiefs.

The 27-year old, affectionately known as ‘Kizza’, is known in Australia for his tireless defensive work and ability to break up play.
