UEFA Champions League: Betting Tips

The very last matchday of the UEFA Champions League group stage is upon us and it will be a Wednesday packed full of action.

Bet Central previews the betting odds of the last one.

PSV vs Liverpool

Liverpool look set to finish on top of the pool after a dominant time since Arne Slot came into the club to replace legend Jurgen Klopp. They face PSV in the last game at this stage we, a side who have had mixed results but remain in contention for a spot in the knockouts.

With qualification secured Liverpool could take it a bit easy and that could give PSV a sniff at victory especially with them playing at home. Belgian winger Johan Bakayoko will be crucial for the success of PSV, but the winger in his youth could contend with the class and quality of Mo Salah and it will be thrilling.

Best Bets: The encounter will be a thrilling affair and it promises to produce goals so over 2.5 goals seems a sure bet.

Girona vs Arsenal

La Liga’s surprise package last season Girona have had a tough season in their maiden season in Europe with a solitary win in 7 games. They now get the opportunity to get one over one of the better teams in the competition, Arsenal.

The Gunners are another team that could use this game to rest some key personnel as they have qualified for the knockouts. Midfield maestro Declan Rice is growing in influence again after a slow start to the season but he will have to look after Donny van der Beek who is player reborn at Girona.

Best Bets: This is one game where one can be bold and go outright for an Arsenal win

Barcelona vs Atalanta

Like the aforementioned sides in Arsenal and Liverpool, Barcelona pretty much wrapped qualification after edging last week’s 9 goal thriller against  Benfica. Atalanta are similarly in a safe position at 7.

Despite both teams’ reasonable safety on the log, they won’t be short of motivation for this one as it is a titanic battle amongst Europe’s elite. Raphinha’s danger up front remain one of Barca’s most dangerous attacking weapons while Mateo Retegui poses a huge threat for the Catalans.

Best Bets: It is hard to pin point a clear winner for this one. If you want to be bold go for a Barcelona win or draw, the safe bet is over 1.5 goals.

Juventus vs Benfica

An encounter that could produce exciting football in Turin, Juventus have a young side that is brimming with potential right now and they could show Benfica a tough time tonight.

Benfica on the one have a handful of ageing stars and their experience could be telling in stopping a young and enthused Juventus side. Keenan Yildiz’s explosive pace will be a huge challenge while the presence of Angel di Maria will benefit Benfica.

Best Bets: This will be an incredibly close game and one that will excite a lot of spectators, go for double odds on this one with Juventus winning or drawing the game.

VfB Stuttgart vs PSG

Only Sporting lies between Stuttgart and PSG on the log with all 3 sides on 10 points and in jeopardy of missing out on the playoffs. The game between Stuttgart and PSG will be full of fireworks because so much is at stake.

The German side are enjoying a good run of form in their domestic league while PSG sit stop of Ligue 1, so it’s such an evenly poised contest. Joao Neves will be so important for the defensive prowess of PSG while he will have to contend with Stuttgart’s midfield anchor Angelo Stiller in a good battle.

Best Bets: this is a game that’s extremely hard to call, but it will produce goals.  Over 2.5 goals is a sensible bet.
