After getting our first dosage of UEFA Champions League football last week, we should have a clearer indication on what to expect.
We look at five matches you should bet on with a multiple in mind. This Wednesday’s Multi goes over 5.00 so there is real value across the four matches. Not only that, there are some value bets if you are really feeling lucky.
18:55 – FC Krasnodar v Chelsea
FC Krasnodar defied the odds in their first game of the group stages, holding French side, Rennes, to a 1-1 stalemate. They’ll find it much tougher against one of the group’s favourites, Chelsea, who looked to have turned the corner defensively in recent outings, keeping clean sheets against Sevilla and Manchester United in back-to-back games. The expensively assembled Chelsea attack should be able to crack the Krasnodar defence.
21:00 – Sevilla v Rennes
Goals have been hard to come by for Sevilla in their past couple of matches, failing to score in their last three matches across all competitions. In their Champions League opener, they were impressive in their goalless draw at Chelsea. After an excellent start to their season, Rennes have suffered a huge blip in form, failing to win in their last four encounters across all competitions and come off the back of a 2-1 home defeat to Angers in Ligue 1.
21:00 – Borussia Dortmund v Zenit St. Petersburg
Dortmund will be hoping to turn their fortunes around after suffering defeat in their first match of the group stages, losing 3-1 at Lazio. BVB have been in superb form apart from their Champions League tie, winning their last three league matches without conceding. Zenit suffered a 2-1 defeat at home against Club Brugge and then lost by the same scoreline again on the weekend.
21:00 – Club Brugge v Lazio
Both Club Brugge and Lazio pulled off commendable upsets in the first week of the UEFA Champions League to beat Zenit and Dortmund respectively. Club Brugge, however, come off the back of a 2-1 defeat on the weekend, while Lazio returned to winning ways in Serie A with a 2-1 victory over Bologna. Lazio also boast Ciro Immobile in their ranks who has shown signs of returning to his best form again.
