Match: Tottenham v Man Utd
When: Wednesday, 21 May 2025, 21:00

Tottenham Form

Spurs are in dire league form and sit 17th in the league table. Their last 11 EPL fixtures have seen eight defeats and just one victory. Their focus switched to the Europa League in April and they have rested players in the league. A 5-1 league defeat at Liverpool was followed by a 3-1 home win over Bodo/Glimt.

A 1-1 draw at West Ham preceded a 2-0 win at Bodo Glimt in their semi-final second leg with just 31% possession. Their last two matches have ended in 2-0 league defeats with seven or more players rested in each fixture. Spurs were beaten at home by Crystal Palace and away at Aston Villa since reaching the final.

Tottenham Team News

Coach Ange Postecoglou will be without five players for this match. James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Bergvall are all ruled out in attacking midfield. Pape Sarr could play further forward in this match.

Radu Dragusin is injured in defence but both Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero are fit having been wrapped in cotton wool of late. Timo Werner will also play no part in this match.

Tottenham Motivation

Tottenham have not won a trophy since 2008 and are desperate to end their drought. All focus in recent weeks has been on preparing for this showpiece.

Spurs are usually very attacking under their current coach but they’ve changed style in recent European ties. They could be quite pragmatic for this match.

Man United Form

United are winless in eight league fixtures having put all their attention on this competition. They scored three late goals to go from 4-2 down to winning 5-4 vs ten-man Lyon in the Europa quarter-finals. A 1-0 league defeat to Wolves and a 1-1 draw at ten-man Bournemouth followed.

They beat Athletic Bilbao 7-1 on aggregate in the semi-finals, winning 3-0 in Spain before a 4-1 home success, either side of a 4-3 league defeat at Brentford. Their last two matches have ended in defeats, losing 2-0 at home to West Ham and 1-0 away at Chelsea.

Man United Team News

Ruben Amorim has one player ruled out and five others who will need late fitness tests to determine their availability. Lisandro Martinez is injured long-term but Matthijs de Ligt, Jonny Evans and Leny Yoro could play some part in the back three.

Diogo Dalot is dealing with a calf injury but should shake off the injury to start at right wingback. Joshua Zirkzee is the other doubt whilst Amad Diallo is a certain starter after his comeback. Mason Mount is pushing hard to start in the front three after his strong recent form.

Man United Motivation

United are looking good in Europe and their motivation to save their season is high. Ruben Amorim needs this win to boost belief in his methods.

Expect to see the Red Devils playing a pragmatic game. However, they’re still open on transitions and are expected to give up lots of chances.
