Wednesday Treble – PSL & Nedbank Cup

Wednesday Treble – PSL & Nedbank Cup. We create a treble with Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs and Benni McCarthy’s Amazulu.

Multiple Betting DSTV Premiership

There is plenty of DStv Premiership and Nedbank Cup action in midweek, with several of the big guns in action on Wednesday.

Mamelodi Sundowns are cruising towards league success, but they still have business to attend to in the Nedbank Cup as they face Polokwane City in the final round of 16 clash.

AmaZulu are on a roll, with Benni McCarthy having recently won the Coach of the Month award. They face Chippa United at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium in the DStv Premiership.

Another top flight match worth looking at for punters is the clash between Maritzburg United and Kaizer Chiefs. For Amakhosi, this clash has often been a stumbling block in recent times. Having beaten Petro de Luanda 2-0 in the CAF Champions League, they will be desperate to keep their momentum as they attempt to avoid missing out on an MTN8 spot for the second time in three seasons.

You can use our suggested bets individually, or – if you are feeling lucky – you can put money on them together in a multi-bet.

17:00 – Mamelodi Sundowns v Polokwane City

Mamelodi Sundowns are back from Lubumbashi, where they beat Congolese giants TP Mazembe 2-1, ending their hosts’ 74-match home unbeaten streak. Although they are likely to rotate their squad, Sundowns’ strength in depth means they are likely to make light work of Polokwane City at Loftus Versfeld.

Polokwane City sit seventh in the GladAfrica Championship and are in respectable form. However, keeping pace with arguably Africa’s form team is some ask and Sundowns will likely dominate the game from the get-go.

17:00 – Chippa United v AmaZulu

AmaZulu’s recent form has been impressive, while hosts Chippa United have been hit and miss. Usuthu have five wins and a draw from their last six DStv Premiership fixtures and they should be too strong for Chippa, who have not won any of their last five league matches.

The great AmaZulu teams of decades gone by were famous for their cup exploits and this Usuthu side can send a real statement of intent to their competitors within South Africa by doing well at the Nedbank Cup.

17:00 – Maritzburg United v Kaizer Chiefs

Maritzburg United have found some form lately, beating Black Leopards 1-0 and then drawing 1-1 to Bloemfontein Celtic in their last two league games. It is nothing especially impressive, but against a Kaizer Chiefs side on shaky ground, it may make the world of difference in terms of confidence if nothing else.

Amakhosi are still a gigantic institution, but they are struggling at the moment despite a 2-0 win over Petro de Luanda. Gavin Hunt’s men cannot afford to spend too much more time in the footballing wilderness. Maritzburg have three wins, a draw and a defeat from their last five fixtures against Chiefs.

They are tipped, once again, to prevent Chiefs from claiming a win, but with Maritzburg having had a tough season themselves, a draw is the predicted outcome.
