SOWETO DERBY DATES CONFIRMED AND TRANSFERS

Dates for the biggest match in South African football, the Sowetan Derby has been confirmed for the 2019/2020 Absa Premiership seasons.

Despite the respective trophy droughts of Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, the fixture remains the most anticipated on the league calendar.

The first Soweto Derby will be played on November 9, 2019, the hosts are Kaizer Chiefs at the FNB. The second round clash is set to be played on February 29, 2020, at the same venue.

Before the Absa Premiership season kicks off,  Pirates and Chiefs will contest in the annual Carling Black Label Cup on July 27 at FNB Stadium.

Both sides have been made progress in the transfer window with the hope of improving from last season.

Orlando Pirates narrowly missed out on Absa Premiership glory, finishing second behind Mamelodi Sundowns. They’ll hope their new signings are the final pieces in their puzzle.
