PSL Multiple and Value Bets by OptaJabu. Bet Central & OptaJabu crunch the numbers to give you the best bets for weekend’s games.

Some heavyweight clashes in the DSTV Premiership with Orlando Pirates travelling to Cape Town City while Benni McCarthy’s Amazulu challenge Kaizer Chiefs. And can Swallows halt the rampant Mamelodi Sundowns train?

combs through the numbers and we come up with the best bets for your multis and bet slips as well as providing value bets.

15:00 – AmaZulu v Kaizer Chiefs

Benni McCarthy’s AmaZulu revival may not be in full swing yet, but it is starting to show signs of promise. Usuthu are unbeaten in four games now and they will see the visit of troubled Kaizer Chiefs as another opportunity to build on that run. Yet, Chiefs are also desperate for a result, especially after the disastrous 4-1 to Royal AM last week. They’re on the road again following the equally unimpressive but less catastrophic 0-0 with Galaxy. Traditionally AmaZulu have a horrendous record when hosting Chiefs:

0 – Kaizer Chiefs are now unbeaten in 18 league games away to AmaZulu in the PSL (W12 D6), their longest unbeaten run away to any opponent in the PSL.

If ever there was an opportune moment to fix that record, this weekend could be it.

15:30 – Chippa United vs SuperSport United

This is a bigger game for the hosts than it is for Supersport, who have finally removed the away-game monkey off their back. Against Swallows two weeks ago, Supersport won an away game for the first time in 14 attempts, ending what had been their longest winless run away from home in the PSL era. They are also finding goals, netting Over 1,5 goals in successive league games for the first time since January. Chippa meanwhile are sliding down the table at an alarming rate, and it’s hard to picture Gavin Hunt getting the better of his former side. It’s harder when you consider his record against his former assistant:

0 – Gavin Hunt is winless in seven matches against Kaitano Tembo, currently his longest run without a win against any manager.

17:30 – Cape Town City vs Orlando Pirates

The big test for Orlando Pirates’ title credentials was last weekend against Sundowns, a match in which they lost 2-0. They weren’t exactly vanquished by Sundowns, but it felt like an early surrender in a title race in which they found themselves already 5 points behind with 5 games played. It’s early days, but the Buccaneers will always play second fiddle until they start to find some consistency. They confidently dispatched Swallows and then Chippa in the space of a week, but the defeat to Sundowns means they still haven’t won three on the trot since the bio-bubble. Now they travel to a coastal city that hasn’t always been welcoming to Pirates. Worse, City are cruising, after the 4-0 win over Swallows on Wednesday evening.

0 – Pirates are winless in six visits to Cape Town City (incl. one bio-bubble game). The six games have either ended in a 1-0 win for City (3 times) or a 2-2 draw (3 times).

15:00 – Mamelodi Sundowns v Swallows FC

Both these sides were involved in MTN8 semi-finals during the week but only one emerged victorious, which was not a surprise really, given their results of late. Swallows 3-0 win last weekend was their worst since they were promoted, and that was before they went one worse, losing 4-0 to City in the MTN8 semi. Meanwhile, Downs are flying, and kudos to the coaching trio who seem to have taken an already dominant team to new levels. Their defence has been outstanding, and if you had bet on a clean sheet in their last 13 league games, you’d have received a decent return 12 out of 13 times.

8 & 5 – Sundowns have kept eight consecutive league clean sheets from the end of last season, and five from the start of a season – both of these are new club records.

Swallows on the other hand have played 27 league games this year and Scored Over 1.5 in only two of them. Does anyone see this being anything other than a routine win for the champions?
