PSL Midweek Betting Guide

The title race and relegation scrap is wide open so this is an important week in the PSL. We provide you with betting tips for every match.

While the title race continues to take twists and turns, the race to avoid relegation is very unpredictable as well. Both races are rather reminiscent of The Bold & The Beautiful – when you think one character is no longer in the picture, they somehow come back to life and become a key part of the story. We’ve crunched through some of the numbers to bring you some stats ahead of a busy betting week.

15:30 – AmaZulu v Bloemfontein Celtic

Amazulu’s hopes of survival could slip further if they fail to beat Celtic on Monday afternoon. Siwelele are one of the form teams since the league restart and were emphatic in the 3-1 win over Chiefs midweek. Only Chiefs have scored more goals than Celtic’s 37 this season, and they are yet to lose a game under coach John Maduke post-restart. In contrast, AmaZulu just aren’t scoring enough goals, and it is hard to see where the goals will come from especially if Bongi Ntuli is not on the scoresheet.

Bet Now: Bloemfontein Celtic to win at 2.50

15:30 – Maritzburg v Bidvest Wits

Wits can go level on points with second-placed Sundowns if they win on Monday against Maritzburg. In previous meetings, Maritzburg have beaten Wits only once in eleven attempts. However, Tinkler’s men have been in good goal scoring form, netting in eight successive games (their best scoring run since 2016). But in Wits, they come up against the best defence in the league.

19 – Wits have conceded just 19 goals this season, the fewest of all top-flight sides.

That said, The Clever Boys have played a lot of football over the past few weeks, five games in all competitions since the restart compared to Martzburg’s two.

Bet Now: Draw at 2.75

18:00 – Sundowns v Golden Arrows

Like Wits, Sundowns have played five games in two weeks since the restart. This may be a contributing factor to how they have struggled to get going. Masandawana are now winless in fourleague games, drawing three and losing one, their longest winless run since they had five winless matches in March/April 2017. Their opponents are winless in five, although they managed to win 3-2 in the reverse fixture earlier this season. Between them, the two sides have won just one of their last ten league matches, but there could be some goals in this.

14 – Golden Arrows have been awarded the most penalties in theleague this season (8), but they have also seen the highest number of penalties awarded against them (6).

Bet Now: Sundowns to win at 1.62 or Over 2.5 goals

18:00 – Black Leopards v Supersport

When the league was suspended in March, Black Leopards were rooted at the bottom of the table. Two games into the restart, they are top of the post-lockdown league table (at the time of writing). In the process, they have won successive league games for the first time this season. Can they make it three in a row? They have won three successive league games only once since they were promoted last season, and come up against a Supersport side that is in the hunt for CAF places.

44 – 44 points from 26league games is SuperSport’s best return at this stage of a league season since 2011/12 (45).

Bet Now: Supersport to win at 1.71
