Barcelona v Atletico Madrid Betting Tips, Predictions and Preview

Barca have lost the advantage in the title race to Real Madrid after dropping four points in the last three games following away draws at Sevilla (0-0) and then at Celta Vigo (2-2) on Saturday.  Quique Setien has cut a dejected figure on the sidelines and in public but his side remains unbeaten at home in La Liga this season.

Atletico Madrid are on a four-match winning streak and now unbeaten in 10 matches. Diego Simeone’s have been in their best form of the season since the restart and seem to be getting back to their disciplined best of late

The Lowdown

Barcelona have drawn two of their last three La Liga contests, however, they are on an unbeaten run of 19 La Liga matches against Atlético Madrid (W14, D5), an unbelievable record. At home, Barca have won four straight matches ‘to zero’ so it really seems the Catalans should win this one.

Atlético head into the heavyweight clash in the best form of their season, the four-match winning streak is part W3, D3, L2 record from their last eight away matches. The visitors kept a first-half clean sheet in all four victories, conceding one goal in total over the course of 360 minutes. Unfortunately, Atletico have faltered on the big stage with no goals in seven of their last ten league matches against Barcelona or Real Madrid, a win looks very unlikely considering history.

Team News

Sergio Busquets is back after a ban and should be back while Ivan Rakitic is expected to get another start in the middle of midfield while Arthur expected to sit on the bench. Despite a major drop in confidence, Antoine Griezmann should start against his former club.

Koke misses out due to suspension so Thomas Lemar is expected to feature left-hand side for Atletico Madrid. Another big blow is the suspension of Stefan Savic so Felipe could return at centre-back following injury. Santiago Arias is expected to rotate into the side at right-back, while anchor Thomas Partey could miss out to Hector Herrera in centre of the park.
