Euro 2020 Betting

International tournaments rarely disappoint the public, and after we’ve given our outright picks for each group in the Euros, our attention turns to the more fun side of betting, where our minds get to go to war with our hearts over who will be the tournament’s top performers.

Player of the Tournament

Kylian Mbappe (8.00)
Kevin De Bruyne (9.00)
Harry Kane (12.00)
Romelu Lukaku (14.00)
Karim Benzema (16.00)
Cristiano Ronaldo (16.00)
Antoine Griezmann (18.00)
N’Golo Kante (20.00)
Bar & Better (20.00)

Kylian Mbappe and his magical feet are priced up as favourites to be named as the Player of the Tournament, and its easy to understand why. For starters, France are in the group of death, alongside Germany and Portugal, so shining in the bigger games certainly increases any footballer’s chances of walking away with the biggest individual accolade on show.

Mbappe also has experience at this level after being one of France’s brightest stars in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, famously running riot in the latter stages, when it mattered most for his nation. After what has been a disappointing campaign for Paris Saint-Germain, this could be Mbappe’s last chance for a piece of personal glory to add to his already-illustrious trophy cabinet.

Kevin De Bruyne would also be another great bet to snatch the Player of the Tournament award. Belgium have a fairly favourable path into the latter stages, so De Bruyne could stat-pad his way to the achievement, and then get over the line with a stellar performance against one of Europe’s big guns in the knockout stages of the tournament.

A notable mention would be N’Golo Kante as well. Once again, being in the French camp, coming up against the best of the best in Group F means that Kante will also have the edge over most of the fellow contestants chasing the Player of the Tournament award.

Kante also comes off the back of a fantastic campaign with Chelsea, where they finished the season strongly, while also winning the UEFA Champions League, throwing Kante’s name in the hat for the Ballon d’Or award as well. Should France win the competition, Kante would definitely be one of their key performers, and considering his form coming into the tournament, it can’t be cheaply ruled off as well.

Who will win be the Player of the Tournament?

It would be quite hypocritical to suggest anybody other than Bruno Fernandes at this point. If the Portuguese magician claims the Golden Boot like we suggest, winning the Player of the Tournament would be a breeze. It would also tie up with the logic being put behind Mbappe and Kante having a realistic chance of claiming the Player of the Tournament accolade, coming from Group F, where games come thick and fast against some of the biggest nations on the European continent. Fernandes is priced up at 20.00 to walk away with the award, which would make the perfect outright double with him to bag the Golden Boot.
