The Premier League is in it’s 2nd week and things are heating up with all the favourites off to a good start. Bet Central review Matchday 2.

Game Of The Week

There were several games that held intrigue going into Matchday 2, Brighton vs Man United has always been interesting owing to how Brighton have simply been a thorn in the side of United, the results have been predominantly Brighton wins and this week was no different – another lovely game culminated in a Seagulls win.

Chelsea vs Wolves also produced some great football, but the much-anticipated battle between Aston Villa and Arsenal lived up to the hype with an end-to-end thriller that ended with the Gunners winning 2-0 to get one over the team that effectively cost them the league last season.

Goal Of The Week

Spectators throughout England were treated to some good goals over the weekend. It was a high-scoring weekend with some games having as many as 8 goals.

One such goal was that of Cole Palmer who kicked a lovely chip over the Wolves goalkeeper who was off his line to give Chelsea the lead just before halftime, Thomas Partey’s power shot past Emi Martinez was brilliant, but the honours belong to Spurs’ Yves Bissouma who scored a beautiful half volley from just outside the box which went into the top corner leaving Jordan Pickford with no chance of keeping it out.

Moment Of The Week

There’s Erling Haaland who seems determined to get to a point whereby the time he departs the Premier League he will have scored against every opposition he played against; the lethal striker added Ipswich Town to his list of victims when he scored against them on Saturday afternoon.

Noni Madueke was special for Chelsea in their win against Wolves – a coming of age of sorts, but nothing typified more how much Arsenal wanted to get over the line against Aston Villa than David Raya’s save to keep the score at 0-0, he showed incredible reflexes to pull off a scarcely believable stop that kept Villa scoreless before the Gunners eventually took control of the game.

Player Of The Week

There were so many brilliant individual performances in the Premier League this past week, watching Son Heung-Min dictate matters for Spurs was incredible. Luiz Diaz and Haaland were flying for Liverpool and Man City respectively.

William Saliba was defensively stout against a determined Aston Villa attack with Mat Rogers impressing them despite their loss. But nothing can compete with the aforementioned Madueke’s incredible hat trick this past weekend. The Chelsea winger was dangerous throughout and asked many questions of a Wolves defence that struggled on the day.
