Everton face Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday. The Toffees ended a five-match winless streak in midweek to jump to 15th in the table. The Reds saw their nine-point lead at the summit cut to seven points on Wednesday.

Everton Form

Everton won just two of their first 13 league matches and were the lowest scorers going into their midweek victory. A 2-0 win at Ipswich made it eight points from four fixtures. A last-minute goal rescued a 1-1 home draw with Fulham before conceding late to lose 1-0 at Southampton.

After drawing 0-0 at West Ham and 0-0 at Goodison Park versus Brentford, they made it four straight blanks fired in a 4-0 thrashing at Man Utd. On Wednesday, Everton beat Wolves 4-0 at home with just 13 shots attempted.

Everton Team News

Sean Dyche is set to be without three midfielders in Timothy Iroegbunam, James Garner and Dele Alli. Armando Broja is back from injury but is not expected to play more than 20 minutes.

Youssef Chermiti is back in training but this match may come too soon. Seamus Coleman and Nathan Patterson are available after injury at right back but Ashley Young could keep his place in that role.

Everton Motivation

The Toffees are expected to have minimal possession even at home. They will try to keep things tight and frustrate the Reds.

A draw here would feel like a win and would help to build some momentum.

Liverpool Form

Liverpool dropped points in midweek after a seven-match winning streak in all competitions. Their 14 EPL fixtures this season have seen 11 victories. After drawing 2-2 away at Arsenal, they beat Brighton 3-2 in the Carabao Cup and 2-1 in the league. A 4-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen followed.

The Reds kept purring by beating Aston Villa 2-0 at home and winning 3-2 at Southampton from 2-1 down. Two massive wins followed, beating Real Madrid 2-0 and Man City 2-0 in two totally dominant displays. On Wednesday, they conceded in the last minute to draw 3-3 away at Newcastle after allowing 2.09 xG.

Liverpool Team News

Arne Slot remains without Conor Bradley, Kostas Tsimikas and Ibrahima Konate at the back. Alisson Becker is out and both Diogo Jota and Federico Chiesa are very doubtful to feature.

Alexis Mac Allister is suspended so Dominik Szoboszlai will return to the XI. Luis Diaz and Trent Alexader-Arnold featured from the bench in midweek but will start this one.

Liverpool Motivation

Slot’s team can’t afford to drop more points and a draw would feel like a defeat.

Liverpool will attack an inconsistent Everton side and look for an early goal. If the game opens up, Sean Dyche’s team could leak a few goals.
