Bournemouth v Liverpool: Preview and Betting Tips | EPL 2025

Bournemouth face Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Cherries are just a point off the top four after an 11-match unbeaten run in the league. The Reds can go nine points clear of the top of the table with a victory.

Match: Bournemouth v Liverpool
When: Saturday, 01 February 2025, 17:00
Where: Vitality Stadium

Bournemouth Form

The Cherries are on an incredible run going back three months. After beating Arsenal and Man City, they suffered two losses in November. They’ve responded with a run of 12 matches in all competitions without losing. A 3-0 win at Old Trafford vs Man Utd made it four wins in five league fixtures.

After successive draws, they beat Everton 1-0 and thrashed West Brom 5-1 in the FA Cup. A fine display saw a 2-2 draw away at Chelsea and two big wins have followed. Bournemouth went to Newcastle and won 4-1 before smashing high-flying Nottingham Forest 5-0 last weekend from just 1.69 xG.

Bournemouth Team News

Andoni Iraola is achieving this incredible run of results despite an injury crisis. Defenders Julian Araujo and Maros Senesi are out, but Adam Smith is nearing a return.

Evanilson and Enes Unal are absent up front. Dango Ouattara has deputised up front and has scored five goals in his last four matches. Marcus Tavernier is available again to boost wide options whilst Luis Sinisterra is also close to being available again.

Bournemouth Motivation

Andoni Iraola has little bench to call upon but that won’t change his approach. His side will look to go all out to beat Liverpool.

Bournemouth play an open game but they’re a bit more focused on counter attacks with Ouattara up front. They will try to be compact and hit Liverpool on the break.

Liverpool Form

Liverpool have played 35 matches this season with just three defeats. They were beaten in midweek at PSV with a heavily rotated side with just two of their best XI. In the league, they’ve dropped points in three of their last nine matches but their lead is still six points to Arsenal with a game in hand.

After successive league draws, they went to Brentford and won 2-0. A 2-1 home win over Lille and a 4-1 thrashing of Ipswich followed with 70% possession and just three shots allowed. The PSV loss has little bearing on this match.

Liverpool Team News

Arne Slot is without Joe Gomez and Diogo Jota due to injury. Curtis Jones should be available to feature in midfield.

Only Andy Robertson and Cody Gakpo are expected to retain their places from the PSV defeat. Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott are pushing for stats but are more likely to be used as impact substitutes.

Liverpool Motivation

This is a must-win game on a weekend where Arsenal face Man City. It’s a chance to take a big step towards winning the league title.

They will enjoy the space afforded to them by the Cherries but will need to be wary of fast counters.
