Bundesliga Best Bets And Value Bets – Matchday 2

The Bundesliga kicked off last weekend with defending champions Bayern Munich dropping points, but after bouncing back in the Super Cup against Borussia Dortmund, they will be looking to get back to winning ways in the league

The kicked off last weekend with defending champions Bayern Munich dropping points, but after bouncing back in the Super Cup against Borussia Dortmund, they will be looking to get back to winning ways in the league.

Dortmund, meanwhile, will be fired up, while we also have what should be an exciting encounter between Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Mönchengladbach ahead of us.

Saturday 21 August: Freiburg v Dortmund

Dortmund, despite their Super Cup disappointment, look set to be a difficult team to beat this season. Having got off to a winning start in the Bundesliga with a 5-2 thrashing of Eintracht Frankfurt, they are expected to kick on against a Freiburg side which lacks the tools to deal with their fearsome forward line.

Saturday 21 August: Hertha Berlin v Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg secured UEFA Champions League qualification with a fourth-place finish last season and there is value in tipping them to triumph over Hertha BSC, who only narrowly avoided relegation.

Hertha went down 3-1 to Cologne in their opening match, while Wolfsburg beat Bochum 1-0.

Wolfsburg won 2-0 in their last match against Hertha and are tipped to come out on top again, with the odds offering above even money in the win market.

Saturday 21 August: Leverkusen v Mönchengladbach

Gladbach got their season off to a promising start with a 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich. Meanwhile, Leverkusen disappointingly drew 1-1 to Union Berlin.

Both results continued a trend for Leverkusen and Gladbach of seeing goals at both ends in their Bundesliga games. Each of these teams have seen this outcome in their last three Bundesliga fixtures.

There have also been goals at both ends in three of the last four fixtures between these sides and this is the most likely outcome once again.

Sunday 22 August: Bayern v Cologne

Robert Lewandowski’s brace and a goal from Thomas Müller handed Bayern a 3-1 win over fierce rivals Borussia Dortmund in the German Super Cup. It was a reminder of just how dangerous they can be on attack.

The defending champions tend to see several goals in matches against Cologne. There have been over 3.5 goals in five of the last six fixtures between the sides including a recent friendly.

Bayern are clear favourites to win and there are likely to be four or more goals once again as they look to make a statement after dropping points in their Bundesliga opener. Cologne do have goals in them too, as they proved in a 3-1 win over Hertha Berlin in their Bundesliga opener.
