Bet Central’s Moments of the Weekend: 24-26 July

The team at Bet Central and watched a lot of sport this weekend so check out our list of things we loved from the sporting weekend.

Canes break the Saders streak

Super Rugby Aotearoa just keeps on producing quality week on week and this weekend was no different. The Hurricanes did the unlikely, they beat the dynastic Crusaders at home for the first time since 2016 – ending a 36-match winning streak.

Lingard breaks punters heart

Antony Johnson must have been thinking about how he would spend his money after placing (what seemed to be a superb) punt on Jesse Lingard not getting a goal or an assist the entire season.

Johnson was on track to pick up his winnings until Lingard decided to score with Manchester United’s last kick of the season, literally, the last kick of the season.

Scenzeny gives Sarri a lung-warming gift

Juventus extended their Serie A dominance after sealing a ninth successive Scudetto after beating Sampdoria.

It was manager Maurizio Sarri’s first league title and Juve goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny gave him the most meaningful gift post-match.

Kemar Roach 200th wicket

Kemar Roach became the first West Indian bowler since Curtly Ambrose in March 1994 to reach 200 Test wickets. A crazy stat considering the Windies historic excellence in the bowling department.

KDB equals King Henry

Kevin de Bruyne has arguably been the best player in the Premier League despite his side falling well short in the title race. On Sunday, he equalled the great Thierry Henry’s 20 assists in a season record which is pretty remarkable statistic considering the number of great players we’ve seen in the league over the past two decades.
