This season, we want to try something new. We’ve teamed up with iDiski Times’ head of digital, , who is well-known in SA’s punting streets and will try to give us a weekly accumulator of his best selections for the weekend – even better we will soon introduce our very own bet.machibet777-affiliate.com podcast where we will discuss David’s selection and give some generation betting tips. Watch this space!
Now, let’s look at this weekend. It’s important to not go overboard at this stage of the season because many teams are still finding their feet and many star players joined pre-season late after their involvement in the Euro or Copa America. Another important factor this weekend are the midweek Champions League, Europa League and Conference League qualifiers. For some teams, it’s more important to focus on next week’s second leg and qualify for Europe than collect a win in their domestic league.
Now, let’s take a look at David’s selections.
Friday
Stade Brest vs PSG – PSG to win (1.25 odds)
PSG need the win because they want to regain the league title, having missed out to Lille last season. Their rivals have had bad starts and PSG will look to exploit that.
Saturday
Freiburg v Dortmund – over 1.5 goals (1.20 odds)
Dortmund started their campaign with a 5-2 victory, while Freiburg drew 0-0. But this fixture promises goals. The last 6/7 ties had at least two goals.here they beat Chelsea 1-0.
Man City v Norwich – Man City over 1.5 goals (1.19 odds)
City started their Premier League campaign on the wrong foot and will be keen to get a win over promoted Norwich at home. City have scored at least two vs Norwich in 10 of their last 12 games.
Inter v Genoa – over 1.5 goals (1.26 odds)
Serie A returns this weekend, but there have been many changes at Inter. They’ve lost arguably their two best players in Hakimi and Lukaku. So I’m going conservatively and look at goals. The last seven ties between both had at least two goals (5/7 had over 2.5 goals).ay in order to make the Champions League. Bologna are winless in their last five games and really look like they have nothing to play for.
Torino v Atalanta – over 1.5 goals (1.21 odds)
Atalanta are favourites, but similar to Inter let’s see how they start and rather focus on goals. The last five clashes between both had over two goals, the last three saw 19 goals scored.
Athletic v Barca – over 1.5 goals (1.30 odds)
Similar to Inter, I don’t fully trust Barca after Messi has left. They looked sharp last week, but also open at the back. It seems their games promise one thing, goals! The last three clashes vs Athletic had two or more goals.
Sunday
Twente v Ajax – Ajax over 1.5 goals
Ajax are too good for the Eredivisie so I’m targeting their games every week. They’re great candidates for over 1.5 FHG (first-half goals), but I’m picking over 1.5 team goals for the acca. They scored five last week and over two or more in 8/11 games v Twente.
Feyenoord vs Go Ahead Eagles – Feyenoord win (1.25 odds)
Feyenoord have started the season in great form. They won their first game 4-0 and collected a 5-0 in Europe. Go Ahead Eagles are promoted and should be too weak for their opponents.
Southampton v Man Utd – over 1.5 goals (1.28 odds)
We all saw how United started against Leeds, while Southampton lost 3-1 to Everton. Five of the last six clashes had over 2.5 goals, but I’m going saver with over 1.5.
Ross County v Rangers – Rangers to win (1.25 odds)
Lyon will Rangers went unbeaten through last year’s Scottish campaign but already lost once in their first two games. That should’ve been a wake-up call. They’ve won their last nine successive games v Ross County.
Bayern v Cologne – Bayern over 1.5 goals
Bayern started with a draw into their Bundesliga campaign but beat Dortmund in the German Super Cup 3-1. They should be too strong for Cologne and easily score two – they’ve done so in their last five successive contests.
Udinese v Juventus – over 1.5 goals (1.29 odds)
Again, this is both side’s first official game of the season. 10/11 clashes had at least two goals and I’m expecting more of the same.
Maritime vs Porto – Porto to win (1.37 odds)
Porto are favourites for this one, having started the new season with two wins. They’ve also won three of their last four clashes at Maritimo. Let’s keep it this way.
