It’s that time of the week again where we run through a selection of the most exciting matches taking place this weekend and offer our best bets and value picks.
Melgar v Atletico Grau (Friday)
In Peru’s Liga 1 on Friday, early pacesetters Melgar will be expected to see off an Atletico Grau side who have gone six games without a win, suffering five losses. Melgar are leading the table and are sitting on top comfortably. They head into this tie on a four-match winning streak.
Shamrock Rovers v Bohemians (Friday)
Shamrock Rovers will welcome Bohemians to the Tallaght Stadium for their League of Ireland Premier Division clash on Friday night. The hosts are leading the table and are sitting on top comfortably, while the visitors find themselves in sixth place. Having won the last two meetings with Bohemians, Shamrock Rovers will be confident of getting maximum points
Shelbourne v Dundalk (Friday)
Staying in the League of Ireland Premier Division, Dundalk looks a top bet against Shelbourne on Friday. The Lilywhites have been a surprise package this season, sitting five points adrift of leaders Shamrock Rovers having played a game less. Dundalk, who have won six games in a row, should win comfortably against a Shelbourne side who have suffered back-to-back defeats.
Corinthians v Santos FC (Saturday)
Corinthians host Santos in the Brazilian Serie A on Saturday. Corinthians remain the only side yet to lose at home this season with four wins and two draws from six games, while Santos have picked up just one win on the road and have drawn three and lost twice. The sides faced each other days ago in the Copa do Brasil with Corinthians easing to a 4-0 victory.
Ulsan Hyundai v Seongnam Ilhwa (Sunday)
In South Korea’s K1 League, it’s top versus bottom as table-toppers Ulsan Hyundai entertain bottom side Seongnam Ilhwa on Sunday. Ulsan have won five of their last six games, while Seongnam are winless in four with five defeats from their eight games on the road. The last time these sides met, Ulsan ran out 2-0 winners with both goals from Jun Amano.
Avai v Palmeiras (Sunday)
In the Brazilian Serie A on Sunday, Palmeiras are tipped to continue their superb away form against Avai who come off a 2-0 loss to Fluminense. The league leaders are on a four-match winning streak and have won their last seven games away from home. With nine wins from their last 10 meetings with Avai, Palmeiras will be very confident that they will win.
HJK v KuPS (Saturday)
KuPS take on HJK in a top-of-the-table clash in the Finnish Veikkausliiga on Sunday. KuPS are top of the standings with a three-point lead over HJK despite playing a game less. With HJK suffering back-to-back losses in the league, KuPS will fancy their chances of getting all three points and stretching their lead at the top of the table.
River Plate v Lanus (Saturday)
River Plate host Lanus in the Argentine Primera Division on Saturday. This will be just River Plate’s second home game of the season following their goalless draw with Atletico Tucuman, and they head into the tie looking to build on their thumping 5-1 win away at Union last time out. Their opponents Lanus were beaten 2-1 in their last away outing, losing 2-1 to Atletico Tucuman.
Degerfors v AIK (Sunday)
Backing AIK to beat Degerfors in the Swedish Allsvenskan this weekend looks a smart thing to do. AIK, who are unbeaten in eight games with six wins, are currently second placed in the league table, while the visitors find themselves in the danger zone after losing eight of their 11 games.
Malmo v Helsingborg (Monday)
Staying in the Swedish Allsvenskan, reigning champions Malmo entertain newly-promoted Helsingborg at the Eleda Stadion on Monday. Malmo have endured a difficult defence to their title but have started to find their rhythm of late. Meanwhile, Helsingborg currently occupies the bottom place on the table and are looking to snap a four-game losing streak.
