There is plenty more action to choose from at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics on Wednesday, with men’s soccer in particular offering superb value.
There is also some on offer in the rugby still, although South Africa is still reeling from events on Tuesday.
Men’s Rugby: South Africa v Australia
South Africa have been eliminated from the main draw of the rugby tournament, but they have a chance to salvage some pride against Australia.
The Blitzboks got the tournament off to a superb start by topping Pool C and their defeat to Argentina does not mean that they are not still one of the best sides in the world.
Men’s Soccer: Brazil v Saudi Arabia
Brazil were breathtaking in the opening match of their men’s soccer campaign, brushing aside Germany 4-2, but they were held to a 0-0 draw against Ivory Coast with 10 men in their next game.
Nevertheless, it would have been encouraging for Brazil to see how they were able to maintain some semblance of control even playing much of the game a man light. They are likely to claim a comfortable win over Saudi Arabia.
Men’s Soccer: Spain v Argentina
Spain and Brazil have the best squads at the tournament on paper and the former are growing into the tournament, as the senior team did at the Euros.
Argentina have got off to a disappointing start and it is unlikely that they will be a match for a far superior Spain side boasting the likes of Pedri, Pau Torres and Marco Asensio.
