SA HERO WATCH – SENSATIONAL CASTER SEMENYA
Over the past few months, Caster Semenya has been a red-hot topic in World Athletics as she challenges a recent IAAF regulation regarding rules on testerone levels in female athletes.
The new regulation would require her to take medication to lower her natural testosterone level. Has this affected her ability to compete? HELL NO!
Caster Semenya has answered her critics in the only way she knows how. She is now unbeaten for three years with 29 consecutive 800m victories, winning the 2016 Olympic title, World Championship in 2017 and the IAAF Continental Cup in the process.
In a week where diversity and gender discrimination has been the focal point, we can’t help but think Serena Williams could learn from our very own. Semenya lets her feet do the talking while fighting for equality in a respectable and honourable manner. We at are behind you every step of the way. Here’s to one of South Africa’s greatest Athletes and sportswomen!
