PGA Betting Tips

The 2021 PGA Championship tees on Thursday from The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort, a golf course known for its beauty and difficulty.

When the South Carolina course last hosted the PGA Championship in 2012, Rory McIlroy won by a record eight strokes and took home $1.45 million in winnings from the $8 million purse.

This year’s purse has increased to $11 million and the winner gets $1.98 million. McIlroy, who’s earned more than $56 million on the PGA Tour since 2008, is a favourite to take home this year’s PGA Championship after winning the Wells Fargo Championship earlier this month.

Let’s take a look at our best tips for the weekend’s action.

Rory McIlroy

A confident Rory on the big stage on a course he has won before seems a very good bet. Despite his finish at Quail Hollow, he’ll realize he can win despite slipping up. McIlroy’s style of play suits the course and it would be surprising if h was snot in and around the leaders on Sunday.

Viktor Hovland

First time major winners are becoming a trend of late and the Norwegian is a prime candidate to keep that up. Hovland has finished T3 in his last two starts after a T21 at The Masters. He’s also won his two PGA Tour titles on similar grass types and coastal layouts.

Jordan Spieth

He heads to the PGA Championship as one of the form players on the tour, with six top-10s (including a win) from his past eight starts dating back to February. Wind will be a factor this week at Kiawah Island, which will play into the hands of the most creative short game exponents and there are few, if any, better in the field than Spieth.

Patrick Reed

Reed was a runner up in the 2017 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow. Recent results include a T8 in the Masters and a T6 in his last outing at the Wells Fargo Championship. His short game skills will come in handy.
