PGA Championship 2020 Betting Preview

PGA Championship 2020 Betting Preview. The PGA Championship has a field of 156 players will feature 48 of the top 50 players in the world rankings.

The PGA Championship is usually golf’s third major of the year but in these times it becomes the sports first. The event kicks off a run of three majors over four months. It’s been 13 months since the last major, Shane Lowry won the Open Championship Royal Portrush if you can remember so far back.

The PGA Championship will take place at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco. The field of 156 players will feature 48 of the top 50 players in the world rankings, including all of the top 10 oh and Tiger Woods. That list includes newly crowned world number one Justin Thomas, who overtook Jon Rahm at the top spot following his win at last week’s WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational.

Course Details

Players to watch

Brooks Koepka

Brooks Koepka could win his third US PGA Championship in-a-row. He found some form after his bruising tied second in the FedEx St Jude last week but his game wasn’t absolutely at its best and his putting, in particular, is still a concern. The fact that he hasn’t won anywhere since he won this back in May last year is a negative too.

Justin Thomas

Following his win last week, Justin Thomas jumped to number one in the world rankings again. Thomas lifted his only major in PGA Championship at Quail Hollow and he’s a very prolific performer, now in search of his fourth win of the season and his 14th PGA Tour title. Thomas is looking for back to back wins for the second time in his career.

Bryson DeChambeau

Bryson DeChambeau’s game has taken a dip at the wrong time on the surface. He won the 3M Open after a run of six straight top-eight finishes but he missed the cut in the Memorial Tournament and then tied 30th in the FedEx St Jude last week. His highest major finish to date is tied 15th at the 2016 US Open.

Rory McIlroy

Two-time US PGA Champion and course winner, Rory McIlroy, has all the right qualities to win this event. However, having only finished tied 47th at TPC Southwind last week, McIlroy can’t be described as a golfer on top of his game but he is McIlroy.

Jon Rahm

After last week, Jon Rahm lost his form and his number one world ranking. Playing in his first start after claiming victory at the Memorial Tournament, the Spaniard could only finish tied for 52nd last week. He has the right characteristics to be a huge success at TPC Southwind. The course should suit him as he awaits his first-ever major.
