All 10 Formula 1 teams launched their 2024 cars across the first two weeks of February. We’re going to unpack what the teams have unveiled.

Red Bull – The RB20 has a lot to live up to after the RB19 was victorious in all but one race last year. The reigning constructors’ champions launched their car at their Milton Keynes headquarters. The 2024 car’s livery retains the navy blue colour scheme that we associate with the energy drink team.

Mercedes – The W15’s launch has been overshadowed by news of Lewis Hamilton’s shock move to Ferrari in 2025. However, the team has made significant changes to the design after the Brackley-based outfit failed to grasp the new regulations introduced in 2023. Notice the mix of silver and black with a touch of green on the new livery.

Ferrari – The SF-24 heralds a fresh challenge for Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. The young duo will look to improve on 2023 which saw Sainz score the only win outside of Red Bull’s. The livery features yellow and white stripes with the main colour the famous scarlet red.

McLaren – The MCL38’s livery was shown off in January, but it was the first time the new car has been seen. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri took it out for a shakedown at Silverstone and will want to build on last season’s fourth place.

Aston Martin – The AMR24 will be a “step forward” according to Fernando Alonso. Last season the Spaniard stood on the podium eight times and will want to build on that success. Lance Stroll drove the car at Silverstone for a shakedown, and we’re looking forward to seeing it at pre-season testing.

Alpine – The A524 will once again see an all-French driver line-up with Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon. The Enstone-based team had a disappointing 2023 finishing sixth. According to Sky Sports, Alpine will use two liveries this season.

Williams – The FW46 has a lot to live up to after Alex Albon helped the team finish seventh in 2023. Team principal James Vowles will look to Logan Sargeant to support Albon and help the team score more points in 2024.

Visa Cash App Red Bull – The VCARB 01 is the first car to be unveiled under Red Bull’s second team. The car’s livery features white and sparkling blue and was shown off in Las Vegas with Kendrick Lemar providing the entertainment.

Sauber – The C44 introduces a new colour scheme after Alfa Romeo’s sponsorship ended in 2023. The new car wears bright green and black and won’t be hard to miss on track. Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou will line up for the Swiss-based outfit once again.

Haas – The VF-24 was revealed via a digital launch like last year and the livery has more black in it compared to the VF-23. The team finished last in 2023 and the new team boss isn’t optimistic about upward movement this season.

Haas was in the news in January when the team announced that long-serving team principal Guenther Steiner would be replaced by Ayao Komatsu.

What’s next?

The team’s head to Bahrain for pre-season testing from Wednesday, February 21 to Friday, February 23.

A week later the team’s will line up for the first Grand Prix of the season at the Bahrain International Circuit.
