South Africa have the chance to register back-to-back T20I series wins when they take on Ireland in the second T20I in Belfast. The Proteas won the previous match by 33 runs after a MOTM performance from Tabraiz Shamsi who we tipped to be the Proteas’ top bowler in the first T20I.
Here are the three bets to take for the second match of the series.
Tabraiz Shamsi
In the previous T20I, Tabraiz Shamsi carried on with his impressive run of form. His four-wicket haul guided the Proteas to a 33-run victory and also gave the visitors a crucial 1-0 lead in the series. Ireland’s batsmen struggled against the spin of Shamsi and will have to do a much better job against the South African spinner if they are to have any chance of levelling the series. Shamsi has already taken 21 wickets this year and I expect him to add to his impressive tally as the Proteas look to clinch the series.
Quinton De Kock
Quinton de Kock has been at his fluent best in recent times. After being the leading run-scorer in the T20I series against the West Indies, he smashed a century in the only ODI he played against Ireland. In the opening T20I, he hit 20 runs off nine balls with three fours and a six and batted at a strike rate of 222.22. If he gets going again, I’m expecting him to cash in and convert his start into a big score.
South Africa to Score More Runs in the First 6 Overs
The Proteas are blessed with a lot of talent at the top of the order. Quinton de Kock and Janneman Malan have been in fantastic form. While captain, Temba Bavuma, who partnered de Kock at the top of the order in the first T20I, is yet to register a T20I fifty from 14 innings and will be eager to break his duck. The Proteas have too much firepower at the top of the order compared to the Men in Green so expect Bavuma’s side to score more runs than the hosts in the first six overs.
