League leaders Gujarat Titans take on second-from-bottom Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. SRH are coming into this IPL 2023 game with nothing to lose as their playoff hopes were dealt a huge blow by a defeat to Lucknow this past weekend. Lwanele Poswayo has prepared his best bets for this game.
Betting Preview
Gujarat lost their previous game to a Suryakumar Yadav-inspired Mumbai Indians side. It was an uncharacteristically expensive effort from a Titans’ bowling unit, that’s been brilliant throughout the season. Their standout bowler and batter was Rashid Khan, who ended on figures of 4/30 and later went on to score 79 off 32 balls in a losing cause.
They’ll be back on home turf for this encounter, where fast bowlers Mohammed Shami and Mohit Sharma have combined for 19 wickets this season (compared with 16 for Rashid and Noor).
Sunrisers Hyderabad will feel that they should still be in the hunt for a playoff spot after losing a game they should have won against LSG. It was their bowling that let them down this time around.
The hosts have pretty much everything going their way, from a solid opening pair, an in-form middle order and the highest wicket-taker of the season so far.
The Sunrisers on the other hand are struggling with only one of their batters averaging over 30 after a minimum of eight innings, and only one bowler having at least ten wickets, compared to four from the Titans.
The underdogs Sunrisers are good value at 2.35 considering that they do not have a lot to play for. Despite that, I don’t see how they beat a side like Gujarat away from home. I’m backing GT to win this contest and get back to winning ways.
