LSG DC Betting Predictions

Lucknow Super Giants will be looking for back-to-back wins when they take on Delhi Capitals in match 15 of at the DY Patil Stadium today.

We have a Betting Preview for you as KL Rahul will look to get the better of Indian teammate, Rishabh Pant.

Betting Preview

After starting the season with a loss to fellow debutantes Gujarat Titans, Lucknow found their groove by defeating Chennai and Hyderabad. While the batters led the 211-run chase against CSK, it was the bowlers who stepped up to defend 169 against the Sunrisers.

With Avesh Khan justifying his price tag by staying close to the top in the ‘Purple Cap’ race, the Super Giants have been able to reap benefits at both ends of their bowling innings. The return of Jason Holder has worked a charm while the all-rounder has also provided much-needed balance.

Delhi Capitals started with a four-wicket win over Mumbai Indians. They then followed that up with a 14-run loss to Gujarat Titans, leaving the side battling for consistency in the wake of absentees. One of those, Anrich Nortje, is back in training and it remains to be seen if the Capitals throw him up straight away. He has a stellar record from the last two seasons (34 wickets in 24 matches).

If David Warner is selected for the Capitals, this match could come down to the battle of the opening pairs. KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock for LSG versus Warner and Prithvi Shaw for DC.

Nortje and Warner’s presence or not, the batting unit has to click for the Capitals sooner rather than later with only Lalit Yadav averaging more than 50 runs after two matches.

The Capitals were unable to make it back-to-back wins to begin their campaign as they fell to defeat against Gujarat Titans in their most recent encounter. The possible availability of Warner, Marsh and Nortje will be key for this match, so I am going for a Dehli Capitals win.

Key Stat

The DY Patil Stadium has seen an average first innings score of 174 this IPL season.

Six of the last eight Powerplay scores at this venue have been at least 40.

The chasing side lost just one of the first eight matches this season but won just two of the following six.

16 of Delhi’s last 19 games have been either won or tied by the team to bat second.

Deepak Hooda has failed to cross 22 in eight of his last nine matches against the Capitals, including five single-digit scores.

Delhi Capitals have conceded the most 6s of the match just once in their last six matches (one tie) but it came in their last fixture.

Among players with a minimum of 750 runs in IPL powerplays, Prithvi Shaw’s strike rate of 147 is second only to Jos Buttler’s 150.

Players to Watch

KL Rahul has traditionally struggled to take off against the Capitals, posting nine straight double-digit scores but only three above 24. Contrastingly, Rishabh Pant has scored at least 24 in eight of his last 14 IPL innings including his latest, remaining a vital cog for the Capitals’ batting.
