IPL 2020: Match 34 – Delhi Capitals v Chennai Super Kings Preview, Prediction, Probable Playing XI and Value bets.
Betting Preview
Delhi Capitals (DC) are up against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in match number 34 of this IPL. Both teams have had contrasting times in the tournament so far. While Delhi have had an upward curve, CSK’s graph has dwindled quite a bit.
Delhi have been one of the best teams in the competition so far this year. They’ve won six games out of their eight and are sitting at the top of the table. And one of the reasons for that has been their formidable bowling attack. The South African duo of Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje have been brilliant. Both the bowlers have been tough to get away. Rabada has been picking wickets for fun while Nortje is rattling the batsmen with extreme pace and is hitting the bat hard. The spin twins Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel have bowled beautifully as well. The batting has been pretty good too and now, with Shikhar Dhawan firing at the top and in the powerplay, it has made life easier for the middle-order which looks slightly shaky in the absence of Rishabh Pant.
On the other hand, CSK finally got quite a few things going in their favour in the last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Their combination was spot on and MS Dhoni had a lot of batting and bowling options to play around with. The batting did show a lot more intent and the squeeze was on from the bowlers. But the three-time champions will need consistency. With three wins from eight games, CSK are sixth on the points table and will look to build some momentum as we head to the back end of the tournament.
Injury and Availability News
Delhi have a lot of injury woes. Amit Mishra and Ishant Sharma have been ruled out of the entire tournament. Rishabh Pant is recovering from a hamstring injury. Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer injured his shoulder in the last game and there is no news on the extent of the injury.
Probable Playing XI

Key Players to watch out for
Sam Curran: The England left-handed all-rounder has been one of the few shining lights for CSK in the first half of the tournament. Curran opened the batting in the last game and scored 31 in the powerplay and gave CSK a strong start. With the ball, he is CSK’s leading wicket-taker (9 wickets) this season.
Shikhar Dhawan: After a sluggish start to the tournament where he was struggling to find the right tempo, Dhawan looked at his fluent best in the last game against SRH. He looked in fine touch and started the attack early. The left-handed opener needs to continue in the same vein and that will help Delhi in the long run.
Anrich Nortje: The South African speedster has been bowling well. Nortje recorded multiple deliveries over 150 and 155 in the last game against SRH. He knocked over Jos Buttler and bowled an 18th over to keep Delhi afloat. Overall, he has picked up 10 wickets this season and has an economy rate of 7.34.
