Premier League Betting

The is set to get underway in ten days time. Pep Guardiola’s Man City side are the odds on favourites to defend their crown. They will face stiff competition from the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Man United.

City travel to face Tottenham Hotspur on the opening day of the campaign, while the clubs expected to challenge them most closely, Chelsea and Liverpool, have favourable matches at home to Crystal Palace and away to Norwich City respectively.

Let’s take a look at the four outright favourites to win the Premier League title.

Man City (1.62)

are the clear favourites going into the 2021/22 Premier League season. They have had a very quiet transfer window with rumours still circulating of the potential signings of two England internationals in Harry Kane and Jack Grealish. If City are to get ahold of the two Englishmen, it will make the task of dethroning them much harder.

The squad is still quite young and settled, with players like Ruben Dias and Ferran Torres coming in last season to add further quality to Guardiola’s team. With Phil Foden expected to have an even more prominent role in the team, it is going to be difficult for any team to challenge them for the title. City experienced a slow start to the previous campaign and I expect them to come out guns blazing as they aim to win their fourth Premier League title in just five years.

Liverpool (6.00)

title challenge will be boosted by the return of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez. It still remains to be seen how quickly the two Champions League winners get back to full fitness after suffering serious knee injuries at the beginning of last season. The return of these two will mean that Fabinho and Jordan Henderson will be back at the heart of Liverpool’s midfield for the upcoming season, which will also be great news for Thiago Alcantara who struggled last season.

Liverpool have only brought in Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig in the transfer window so far. The return of fans to stadiums is also an added boost for Jurgen Klopp’s men as they suffered five consecutive home defeats for the first time in their history in the previous campaign. With the backing of the home crowd, you have to feel Liverpool will have a better chance of reclaiming the Premier League title.

Chelsea (6.00)

The reigning have also had a quiet transfer window. They’ve only brought in Marcus Bettinelli on a free transfer as a third-choice goalkeeper. Chelsea are in the market for a centre-forward as deals for Erling Haaland and Romelu Lukaku look increasingly unlikely. If they are to get their hands on either of these two strikers, you’d have to start considering them as serious title contenders.

In Thomas Tuchel, the Blues have a world-class manager who’s capable of getting the best out of the players at his disposal. Chelsea have still got a great squad with players like Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech looking to prove their doubters wrong. I wouldn’t put it past Tuchel’s side to mount a serious title challenge despite the obvious need for a world-class striker.

Man Utd (9.00)

have had a very good transfer window. They’ve managed to bring in Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane from Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid respectively. There is no doubt that these two players will improve United’s chances of winning the league. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side finished second last season, twelve points behind Man City.

Solskjaer recently signed a contract extension keeping him at Old Trafford until at least 2024, with an option for a further year. This was not great news for some Man Utd fans as they feel the Norwegian is not the right man to lead them to their first Premier League title since 2013. Whether he’s the right man or not, the signings that United has made have definitely boosted their chances.
