PUNTERS GUIDE TO THE LAS VEGAS 7s

The USA head into this weekend’s Las Vegas 7s level on points with New Zealand on top of the World Series log. The host nation will fancy their chances of defending the Cup at the Sam Boyd Stadium. However, with the All Blacks 7s coming off the back of success in Sydney and Fiji hot on their heels, it won’t be an easy task.

The Las Vegas 7s will kick off at 01:00 SAST on 2 March. will get the action underway.

The Blitzboks will play their first match against Japan at 03:12 and will then face Chile at 06:13. They will finish off Pool C with an exciting clash against England at 00:10 on Sunday.

The knockout action will then commence at 02:08 with the Cup final scheduled for 02:30 on Monday 4 March.


New Zealand are expected to dominate Pool A ahead of Samoa, Canada and Spain. Likewise, hosts and defending Las Vegas champions the USA should see off Kenya, Argentina and France with little trouble based on current form.

South Africa are the defending World Series champions but they have a tricky task ahead of them. The Blitzboks sit fourth on the table this season and have been grouped in Pool C along with fifth-placed England, as well as Japan and Chile.

Fiji are unsurprisingly favourites to win the Las Vegas 7s coming in at 1.90 but they are followed closely in the by hosts USA at 2.60. This could prove to be value, but it is tough to split the top three with New Zealand at 3.25
